Relation To Books Long Shadows (Warriors: Power of Three #5)
The Clans are in turmoil. ShadowClan has turned its back on StarClan and pledged to follow the dark predictions of Sol, the strange cat who foretold the solar eclipse. But not all the cats have lost faith in their warrior ancestors. . . . Jaypaw is convinced that StarClan still holds an important place in the warrior code, and his search for answers leads him far back into the past, farther back than even StarClan can remember. Lionblaze, tortured by violent dreams and bloody visions, wishes he had never been prophesied to be one of the three but to turn his back on his littermates would be the ultimate betrayal. And Hollyleaf is terrified that once the Clans lose their faith, the warrior code will fall apart. She's willing to fight tooth and nail to preserve it--whatever the cost. And when murder stalks into the heart of ThunderClan, the cats realize that the darkest shadows don't always lie outside the territory.

BREATHTAKING! Oh wow, I really, really liked this one. The mysterious Sol promises to teach the three about the prophecy, but proves that he cannot be trusted. A clan loses faith in Starclan and Holyleaf, Lionblaze and Jaypaw need to use their brains and bravery to convince the clans not to loose faith in Starclan. Greencough spread through the camp like wildfire and Firestar gets really ill. Jaypaw is shown where the catmint is in a dream, but needs Lionblaze to help him retrieve it. But thereAs usual with these Warriors books, I don't have a whole lot to say, but this was one of the better ones! The scene with Squirrelflight, Ashfur, and the main characters felt a bit rushed coming on, but was good and dramatic, and the ending left on a cliffhanger. Even though I know how the story continues since I've read the books before, I'm still curious to find out what truths and lies are uncovered next.

O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm just...shocked. This book has left me literally SPEECHLESS. GAAH!!! It's DEFINITELY the BEST one out of ALL the warriors series so far. AAGGH!!!!!! ITS SOO EXCITING AND SUSPENSEFUL AND FULL OF MYSTERY AND THRILL AND MURDER AND SHOCK!!!!
3.5 starsA bit repetitive. The plot, that is. I still keep reading it so it must be doing something right! I think it's more than anything imagining my own kittens having such a life - yet my little darlings have hardly ever left the garden and they seem pretty happy! We pet lovers are dreadfully keen to anthopomorphise our fur babies, no? ; )
For a book where "we have to talk" is really the catch phrase (at least once a chapter, it feels like), there is still no one talking to each other so that all the problems compound. You're trying, Midnight, and I appreciate that.
I absolutely love the warriors series. This book will leave you on the edge of your seat as you crave to learn more about the prophecy and the dark secret squirrelflight is hiding.
