At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this new twist thrown into the series of touching stories from the Baxter family, but I loved it more and more as I continued reading it. It is different, but in a good way. Famous how their famous son figures out his life and returns to his family, as well as to his faith.A reread for me but once again, Mrs. Kingsbury hits a home run with this novel filled with love, hope, understanding and God's saving grace. Still a five star read for me!

I loved this book and couldn't put it down! Karen Kingsbury continues her series on the beloved Baxter family by delving into the more secret side of the family. Fame is an appropriate name for the book as it deals with both the expectations placed on someone famous, the price of that fame and the toll that newfound fame can take on someone used to being ordinary.
This book was a great start to the First Born series. This book obviously focused on the first born son of the Baxter family, Dayne Matthews. Dayne is a successful Hollywood actor, trying to cast a lead role to play opposite him in his next movie, a romantic comedy. None of the top Hollywood actresses seem to fit the part because it calls for an innocent small town girl. But Dayne thinks he knows who would be perfect...Katy Hart, the girl who runs the Childrens Christian Theater. He saw her at
I was really thrown off by the name change of Jamie Hart to Katy Hart. Apparently that was the publisher's decision, as the author had used the name Jamie in another unrelated series. It didn't make any sense to me. The author started using the new name towards the end of "Reunion" where Dayne is trying to remember her name. Katy is the name he came up with. At the time I thought he had remembered it wrong. The story was pretty good although not as intense as the books from the Redemption series.
