Poor Mathias gets handed a shit lot in life after his parents die and he is adopted by his auntie - who unfortunately turns out to be crazy. I enjoyed meeting Mathias and watching him grow. I loved the other characters and their huge differences. I even loved the villain in this book. Over all the characters were well rounded and the plot was pretty good too. I loved the lead up and found it hard to put down once I got started. The writing style was really basic, the plot was mainly made up of unoriginal concepts and characters and the dialogue was stiff and formal, even though one of the main characters is a homeless teen boy. You'd think he'd have picked up SOME slang! It was just a really dull, predictable read, or what I read was. Maybe the ending picks up?
