While we were discussing Paul Bunyan this week I got sidetracked and started talking about how everything in fairy tales happens in threes. I found the history, context and discussion fascinating and I'm really pleased we read this collection as a group. I was expecting the tales to be darker than they were, although I did think the punishment handed out to the "bad guys" was mostly fairly hardcore.
