Commentary Supposing Books War of the Witches (La Guerra de las Brujas #1)
Outsider Anaíd leads a solitary life in a small village in the Pyrenees with her mother Selene. She does not suspect there is anything particularly strange about her family, aside from her mother's personal eccentricities . . . until one day Selene disappears without a trace and Anaíd is confronted with a shocking truth, her mother is a witch, prophesied to be the chosen one to end an ancient war between two feuding clans.Rating Epithetical Books War of the Witches (La Guerra de las Brujas #1)

I enjoyed very much this book. I started reading it because it was about witches but I thought this was going to be a story set in another universe. No. The main character is a bit commercial, the insecure type of girl. But still, the way the author writes makes your reading very fluid and the plot is full of mysteries that are solved the further you read. The concept is good and the story loveable for those who like witches and to read about the live between mother and daughter. I wouldn't
Nice young adult bookPlaced in Spain and ItalyThe writer is SpanishAnd I am afraid the translation into dutch was not that good.Although I think its now (in dutch) a bit childish,I have red it with pleasure.

Anaid is a smart, dependable, often overlooked teenage girl. She is the exact opposite of her beautiful, fun spirited and exuberant mother. Its hard to believe that the two are even related. On the morning of Anaids mother disappearance, she discovers that there is much more to her mother than meets the eyes. Selene, her mother, is a witch. The Chosen One to be exact, the witch that is prophesied to end the war between the two witch clans.Taught and trained by four other women of her mothers
This is one of the worst books I've come across. The first chapter was literally non-stop slut shaming. Anaíd's mother goes missing and everyone's all "well, you know, if she didn't dress like that..." and hating been seen with the librarian because she was always knocked up. Hey, how about instead of addressing it as though she needs to close her legs for once, make a little joke about it clearly being a happy marriage or something? After the first chapter I was reading to see if it could
Reviewed by Harmony for TeensReadToo.comAnaid is short, too smart for popularity, and embarrassed by her mother. But when her mother suddenly disappears, Anaid realizes that she's a witch. And not just any witch, but the daughter of the Chosen One. She's the one who's supposed to end the bloody war between the Odish and the Omar. As she searches for her mother, Anaid finds out more about her heritage and about herself. I found WAR OF THE WITCHES to be exciting, though it was slightly confusing
Anaid's mother disappears and Anaid is determined to find her, especially once she finds out that her mother is a witch...and not just any witch, but the witch of the prophesy who will end the war between the two witch clans, the Odins and Omars.I actually really enjoyed this...read it on the way to Disneyland (which may have helped my enjoyment...I was in the mood for fun, magic, etc.). I haven't read many books with witches and don't know much of the mythology of it...or if this is closely
