This was a gripping read, maybe not a literally strong book but the plot is intriguing and it's definitely a page turner with a few shockers!

Someone please help me ...Through the first 100 pages I had the distinct feeling I had read this before, possibly with a few minor variations. As usual for Jean-Christophe Grangé , the build-up is strong. We meet some interesting characters, though quite stereotyped, and are thrown into the fire right away.Slowly what you think is the plot is unveiled and you begin guessing in what direction this will turn. My bet is your guess is as wrong as mine because the story sidetracks a few times.

Really a page turner. Listened to the German audio book and liked the narrator. Fast paced story, interesting plot, but I didn't like the ending. It came quite fast and wasn't "satisfying" at all. But nevertheless a very good Grangé.

So far the book is really interesting. The book is splitting into two stories that will eventually reunite for the plot. There is a woman who is losing her memory and suspects her husband of playing a role in her losing her memory. There is also a police officer who decides to bring a loose cannon out of retirement to help him seek out a serial killer in a neighborhood of Paris where no one talks to the police. It has been years since I read this book but I still remember the plot and characters in detail. This book started off very interesting for me; the main character suffers from partial amnesia, she forgets his husbands face but no-one elses. I was instantly pulled in and could not put this book down first. Writing is graphic and detailed, which I enjoyed. Too bad the ending was, in my opinion, terrible. I want to like this book more than I do, this had so much potential but the ending was boring
